"Lakshmi and Ganesh"

Abundance and Wisdom, walking together. In Hindu mythology, this pairing is no accident. Lakshmi is the radiant goddess of fortune, beauty, fertility and spiritual prosperity — the one who flows like wealth itself, often seen with her lotus and her pot of plenty.

Ganesha is the beloved elephant-headed remover of obstacles, the god of wisdom, new beginnings, and clear seeing. Together, they teach us that true abundance only comes when wisdom clears the path for it. Look at the dynamic between them in this painting. Lakshmi stands in the foreground, human and luminous in her red and blue sari dripping with pearls and jewels, holding her lotus aloft and her kalash — the pot of abundance — close, while coins slip like blessings from her open palm. Behind her, larger, warmer, terracotta-gold like earth itself, stands Ganesha, his presence protective and steady, a basket of modaks in his hand. He does not overshadow her; he guards her. She does not lead him; she reveals him. He is the grounding, she is the grace.

Painted against a deep midnight-blue landscape of mountains under a full moon, their warm oranges and reds glow like a temple lamp in the dark. They look directly at you, not as distant deities, but as intimate companions saying: May your obstacles be cleared, and may your hands be full.
