"Cancer"
She holds the crab not as a symbol, but as a secret kept
close to her heart.
In this large A2 Art Nouveau watercolour, Cancer emerges as
a moon-woman with flowing purple hair tangled with shells, like treasures the
tide left for her alone. In her hands she cradles a luminous disc, and within
it, her Crab — soft, sacred, protected.
Behind her, a halo of stars glows, and
behind that, discs and distant suns drift like memories of outer space, because
Cancer, though Water, is ruled by the Moon. Washed in deep midnight blues,
mother-of-pearl silvers and that tender, twilight purple, the painting feels
like a lullaby.
Her Art Nouveau border cradles her in kind — another small crab
tucked into the design, abstract ripples of water that flow like feelings, and
stars shining in the top corners like night-lights for a child of the cosmos.
Those
born under Cancer (June 21 - July 22) are the healers, the protectors, the deep
feelers of the zodiac — intuitive, nurturing, loyal beyond words. They carry
home inside them, and they make a home inside you.
To have a print of her is to
invite that gentle, moonlit protection into your own home. A reminder that
softness is a shell and a strength, that it is holy to feel deeply, and that
you are allowed to hold what you love close, like a luminous disc against your
heart.
