Lake Song - The Element of Water
Water never forces. It surrenders, and in surrendering, it
holds everything. This is Water in her human form. She floats upside down,
weightless in the deep blue, eyes half-closed in a dream state — not falling,
but being held. In her hands, a small chalice, the suit of Cups, the vessel of
emotion, intuition, and the subconscious.
She is not clutching it; she is
offering it, even as she drifts. She is the element itself: fluid, reflective,
mysterious, healing, the great mother who remembers everything that has ever
been poured into her.
And beside her, huge, emerald, impossible to ignore — the
Frog. Her guardian, her familiar, her anchor to both worlds. While she is
translucent and dissolving into light and smoke, he is solid, wet, brilliantly
alive with a golden, knowing eye. The frog lives both in water and on land — he
is the bridge between emotion and reality, between the dream and the waking. He
looks directly out at us, while she looks inward.
Above them swims a spirit
fish, and behind them the full moon glows — the ruler of tides, of dreams, of
women. Wisps of white like water-current or incense wrap around her luminous
body, blurring where she ends and the ocean begins.
Painted in layers of deep
midnight blue, turquoise, and phosphorescent aqua, this is a painting you don't
just see, you sink into. It reminds you that to feel deeply is not to drown —
it is to float.
